From the Floor to the Table

This powerful message takes us into the story of Mephibosheth from 2 Samuel 9, revealing how grace transforms our brokenness into belonging. We're reminded of the five-second rule from our childhoods—that instinct to salvage what's been dropped because it still has value. This simple memory becomes a profound spiritual truth: God doesn't discard us when we've been damaged by life's circumstances. Mephibosheth was dropped as a child, left lame in both feet through no fault of his own, yet King David sought him out not because of his condition but because of his bloodline. The sermon powerfully illustrates how we often live in 'Lodebar'—a place of silence, scarcity, and shame—when we're actually royalty called to the King's table. Grace doesn't wait for us to fix ourselves; it comes looking for us in our broken places. The most striking revelation is that at the table, nobody sees our feet. Our wounds, our limps, our failures are covered by the tablecloth of God's grace. We're called to sit as children of the King, not because we've earned it, but because relationship precedes restoration. This message challenges us to stop defining ourselves by what happened to us and start embracing who we are in Christ—royal, restored, and invited to continual fellowship at His table.
